Chanting, or Kirtan, is an ancient practice used in all spiritual traditions. It forms an essential part of bhakti (devotional) yoga. Its purpose is to still the restless mind, which then allows the heart to open more fully to love and deep joy. Chanting is an opportunity to let your heart soar with ecstasy !

belovedOne, formed by Christina Wellbeloved and Jonathon Huet in 1998, play sacred Sanskrit mantras and bhajans (songs) from the Hindu tradition on harmonium and mridang drum. They were joined by Adam Howard on guitar in 2007 and Susie Harbin is now playing cymbals with us. All music is original and written by Christina, unless otherwise stated.

We offer a chant evening or afternoon on average once a month ( please see Diary). We are always open to extra requests within generally a 50mile radius of Emsworth, so if you would like us to come and play for you, or maybe for a yoga group etc then please do contact us. We recently played on stage at the Quest UK Mind Body Spirit Show in Devon and hosted workshops there as well, which were all well-received, judging by the feedback. It is an absolute honour to be spreading the Divine Name in this way and to know it is touching people's hearts. Om Namah Shivaya!
